YEALINK SHINES IN DUBAI

AS ENHANCED RANGE GENERATES 50% INCREASE IN LEADS

An enhanced range and new Middle East distribution deal saw specialist VoIP manufacturer Yealink record a 50 per cent year-on-year increase in leads at Dubia’s GITEX exhibition.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary GITEX is the key ICT showcase for the Middle East and this year attracted over 100,000 visitors from across the globe. Exhibiting in the British Pavilion in the Gulf Comms hall, Yealink saw interest in the entire range, and particularly strong interest in its new low cost SIP-T18 ‘simply phone’ and VP2009 videophone.

“Video usage is growing across the region generally but is now being buoyed by economic circumstance as companies look to trim their business travel bills,” commented Yealink’s Head of Distribution Channels, Charles Williams. “For similar reasons the T18 was an eye-catcher. In the current climate resellers can see real opportunities for a model which allows, even tempts, organisations to realise the many benefits SIP technology offers.”

Whilst these two units were the company’s showstoppers the wider handset range, including the T20, T22PT26P and T28P, attracted much attention. Visitors to the Yealink stand were able to test the technology themselves in the specially designed product zone and for the first time were able to witness live application of the EXP38 expansion module and EHS36 Jabra and Plantronics compatible wireless headset adaptor.

Yealink phones were also on the Kingdom of Bahrain pavilion and enabled delegates to call home when used in combination with a VoIP switch.

Yealink also used the show to introduce its new Middle Eastern distributor, BEN International, which the company appointed prior to GITEX opening. In a move which demonstrated the importance of the Yealink brand to the distributor, BEN’s Managing Partner Sheena Merlyn assisted the company’s sales effort along with account manager Dhruv Dhakan.

Mr. Williams heralded this year’s GITEX as signalling greater success in the region for Yealink. “It wasn’t just the volume but the quality of visitors which really struck me. That, along with the dramatic increase in leads which we generated and the added support which BEN’s network now gives us, bodes extremely well for our future presence in the Middle East which is one of the world’s most exciting and fastest growing ICT markets.”
